Anamorphic filming offers the highest resolution and most impressive projected screen presentation (the aspect ratio is 2.35:1). The camera gate aperture is larger than the academy aperture, allowing the maximum amount of 4 perf film to be exposed while still preserving space for the sound track. One of the great features of anamorphic is that the camera negative can be simply contact printed to get a projectable print. No expensive digital or optical manipulations are required, and all theaters are equiped to project it. Our Kinor and Konvas cameras are easily set up for anamorphic filming, and our excellent quality Lomo anamorphic lenses are affordable.
Lomo round front anamorphic primes, $80 each, per day
Lomo 40-200mm zoom 150
Foton zoom 37-140mm 75
Kinor 35H Anamorphic
Kinor 35H with 75mm Lomo anamorphic lens, anamorphic matte box and de-anamorphic viewfinder.
The Kinor is easily converted for anamorphic use. The film gate, goundglass and viewfinder (if desired) are changed, anamorphic lenses are used and you are shooting full 'scope.
Konvas 2M Anamorphic
The Konvas is also easily set for anamorphic filming. The film gate is changed and a viewfinder is installed. As the 2M shares the lens mount (OCT19) with the Kinor, the same Lomo lenses are used. It is simply the least expensive way to shoot anamorphic. Of interest is the Foton zoom with front mounted anamorphic adapter. As it is relatively small, and keeps the whole package very portable.
